Department Overview

The Enterprise Service Delivery (ESD) Business Operations team delivers a broad range of expertise and services to drive integrated, cross-organizational solutions. By providing strategic counsel and program governance, the team helps the organization balance operational strategy, risk, compliance, and continuous improvement. We aspire to build leading programs that enable ESD and PG&E to thrive in their operations.


Position Summary

The Senior Business Performance Analyst’s primary functions will be to assist in the development / refinement of metrics, implementation of LEAN, and facilitating cross-functional problem solving across ESD. They will input and maintain custom data and analytic reporting to provide insight into and facilitate day to day operations and continuous improvement efforts for the ESD Team. Partnering with the Expert Business Performance Analyst, they will support internal clients to move from simple, pre-existing business intelligence solutions to forward-looking "what's next" capabilities using more advanced predictive and prescriptive tools. The successful candidate will work within a variety of systems across functional teams and partner with peers on process change implementation (using the LEAN methodology and framework) and ongoing measurement and reporting.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $98,000

Bay Area Maximum: $146,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides support on the use of lean techniques to improve process performance
  • Supports teams in elements of lean, including waste elimination, problem solving, and visual management
  • Inputs data and tracks / trends metrics that provide data for process measurement, business operations or risk assessment and may present findings to leadership.
  • Drives and supports implementation of process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Facilitates monthly and weekly metrics reporting related to performance and project status
  • Collects data to identify root cause of problems on performances and implements solutions for improvements
  • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques, processes and implementation
  • Determines data needs, collects data, selects from different analytical techniques to conduct root cause analysis, determine issues designs and maintains operational tools and reports
  • Projects are small to medium complexity and require selecting methods, approaches and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
  • Supports analysis that accurately describes the state of the business
  • Monitors and ensures accurate data feeds from multiple sources
  • Develops recommendations related to business strategy and operations. Presents findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
  • May provide guidance to Business Process Analysts and Business Process Analyst Associates.
  • Performs root cause analysis on complex processes that requires customized reports and data.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years related or equivalent experience


Desired:

  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Proficient Excel skills (Power Pivots & Tables, V Look up, etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft BI stack including PowerView and PowerPivot; PowerBI, DAX
  • Proficient in MS Excel/Access/PowerPoint
  • Experience with metrics/dashboard creation, reporting, and presenting data
  • Experience working with data stored across multiple databases/data sources
  • MBA or other advanced degrees.
  • Proficient in statistical, modeling, and process improvement knowledge
  • General reporting knowledge and experience with multiple reporting tools
  • Demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Ability to keep pace and contribute to a high performing team
  • Problem-solving skills and data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with utility operations
