Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Stepdown - 4N Day Shift - (Hours: 7a -7p) Weekend & Holidays - per the department guidelines.
Christiana Care - Wilmington Hospital is looking to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Medical Stepdown Unit - 4N.
The Unit
We have nurses who have been on our unit for over 15 years. The unit provides adult and geriatric inpatient and observational care on a 24-hour basis. The area is designed to accommodate 43 patients who need medical surgical nursing care and testing. The patients are received, admitted, and transferred from the Emergency Department, the Step-Down Unit, the Intensive Care Unit, and Direct Admissions from the community and provider offices.
The scope of services on the medical unit encompasses a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to stroke, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, cellulitis, substance use disorder and psychiatric diagnoses. The unit is designated as a Primary Stroke Unit by the Joint Commission.
Working in a mixed-acuity unit will provide the opportunity to be ACLS certified, learn from critical and emergent patient situations, and use best practice techniques from evidence-based care.
