Responsible for coordinating performance improvement activities in concert with the hospital(s) Mission, Vision and Values, Code of Conduct and Strategic Plan.
Measures, analyzes, generates and presents reports on healthcare processes and patient outcomes to identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
Coordinates performance improvement activities focused on specific patient service lines or nursing/medical and/or organizational quality initiatives through the use of specific benchmarks and evidence-based practices. Facilitates sentinel event investigations and root cause analysis activities to reduce risk and increase patient safety. Coordinates the review of, and collaborates with Risk Management on, correspondence related to quality of care issues from outside the organization.
Participates in efforts to establish and maintain organizational readiness to meet regulatory requirements.
Educates staff and physicians regarding performance improvement processes/initiatives and patient safety.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or related healthcare degree required.
Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit, which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field.
Preferred Experience: Quality Management, regulatory compliance, or TQM/CQI.

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant has been nationally recognized for its record setting kidney, liver and pancreas transplant programs. According to the United Network of Organ Sharing database, the center reached a major milestone in 2019 by performing 231 living donor kidney transplants in a single year setting a new national record - that’s 65 more transplants than the second center on the list.
In addition to transplant care, Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant is a full service hospital with over 260 beds that provides specialized services for liver cancer care, emergency care, weight loss surgery, urology surgery, vascular surgery, inpatient rehabilitation, colorectal surgery and behavioral health care. It is a designated Center of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
