The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) engages on the federal legislative, regulatory, legal, and communications fronts to advance policies that enable public clean water utilities to provide affordable and sustainable clean water for all communities. Our vision is to represent every utility as a NACWA member, helping build a strong and sustainable clean water future.

We are in search of a creative and dedicated Lead Graphic & Website Designer to join our team and help us amplify our advocacy efforts and outreach initiatives. The Lead Graphic and Website Designer will be at the forefront of NACWA’s visual communications. This pivotal role involves crafting compelling and impactful graphic designs that support our advocacy campaigns, program initiatives, internal and external communications, membership development, and event marketing. This role is involved in every aspect of NACWA’s visual communications, including document and website design, layout and implementation. As a brand steward, this position will also ensure that all design assets reflect NACWA’s visual identity, values, and messaging, maintaining consistency across all platforms.

Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in graphic design or visual communications, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality design projects.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and fluency in MS Office applications. Proficiency in CMS platforms (Sitefinity and WordPress), HTML5, CSS, and Bootstrap for web design.
  • Strong understanding of visual elements, layout, and usability of websites. Attention to detail and experience in writing and proofreading.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working closely with cross-functional teams or independently on multiple projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, providing regular updates and progress reports to internal teams.
  • Familiarity with printing processes, photography, illustration, and online content delivery. Ability to optimize content for various platforms and layouts.
  • Willingness to learn and incorporate feedback into design iterations to support NACWA’s evolving goals.

More About the Position & NACWA

The salary range for this position is $60-70k. This full-time position has excellent benefits, including 100% coverage of medical and dental insurance premiums for NACWA employees and immediate dependents; flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent daycare accounts; employer contribution to a retirement plan without employee match; and a generous paid time off program.

This position is eligible for hybrid telecommuting. NACWA employees are required to be in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but it may occasionally be necessary to be in office more. Mondays and Fridays are remote workdays.
