NA, United States Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) Full time

The Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine(ADLM) is a leading global scientific and medical professional organization that drives innovation in laboratory medicine, empowering healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and safeguard public health. With a recent rebranding and a new technology strategy, ADLM is positioned to elevate our impact in the field. We are seeking an experienced Chief Membership & Market Development Officer to join our leadership team to boost our growth and market presence. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will work with C-suite peers to create strategies for market, revenue and membership expansion in line with our 5-year strategic plan.

In this role, you will lead teams responsible for marketing/membership, communications/PR, and corporate relations (15 total), and engage regularly with staff, volunteers, external stakeholders, and vendors. You will have the support of our Board and senior leadership and the resources you need to hit the ground running. We have established relationships with corporate partners and the scientific community, extensive data on new market opportunities, and expert staff. We seek a leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and deep knowledge of the association market to identify and pursue promising opportunities and lead cross-functional growth initiatives.

ADLM offers a wide range of products and services for our 7,000 members and the broader scientific and medical communities. We publish the leading international journal of laboratory medicine, provide ongoing education and certification opportunities, and host an annual conference and trade show attracting over 20,000 attendees worldwide.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Strategic Market Expansion. Identify opportunities to diversify revenue streams beyond our annual conference and trade show. Leverage relationships with non-member event attendees and professionals in adjacent fields to expand membership, and non-member customer markets.
  • Enhancing Collaboration Across Teams. Break down silos and foster better integration and collaboration among teams to harness existing skills and drive coordinated initiatives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making and Program Effectiveness. Use data to drive decision-making, ensuring resources are allocated for maximum impact and initiatives generate a strong return on investment. Scale successful programs while reengineering or discontinuing others for sustainable growth.

Work Environment, Salary, and Benefits

  • Our most important asset is our people. We value a healthy work-life balance and currently offer a 35-hour work week with a hybrid schedule of four days remote and one day on-site in our northwest Washington, DC, office. Some travel is required to attend board meetings, conferences, partner events, etc.
  • The budgeted salary range for this position is $220-$265k. We offer an exceptional benefits program, including 21 days of PTO in addition to two personal days, thirteen paid holidays, paid family, bereavement, volunteer, and pet leave, medical/dental/vision plans, up to a 10% match retirement contribution, and more. We also offer a Dress for Your Day policy, an on-site fitness center, and convenient access to Metro.
  • You will like who you work with. Our staff is a diverse team dedicated to supporting our members, ADLM’s mission, and each other. We are a respectful, energetic, and collegial group of passionate and committee colleagues. We work and win together.
