Solar Technician Level 3
Summary:
Per Sé Group is hiring a Solar Technician Level 3 for a contract in Desert Center. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar PV systems and associated equipment. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable solar PV operation.
Responsibilities
Executes routine electrical troubleshooting and repair, instrumentation calibration and troubleshootingPerforms complex maintenance work such as distributed control systems and inverter troubleshooting as assigned by supervisor based on level of skill and abilityComplete work orders for the preventive maintenance management systemPerforms corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on all PV Solar equipmentPrepares and implements switching and clearance orders, while working with Operations CenterOperates all electrical and mechanical PV Solar power plant systemsParticipates in training as required, JHA, PJB, LOTO documentationWrites Plant Orders, Plant Procedures, Operating Instructions and other documents as assigned by supervisorEnsures work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirementsPerforms work independently and/or in work crewsPerforms other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills and Expertise
A high school diploma or GED is required4+ years of PV solar experience is required. I&E, I&C and/or C&I Electrician experience will be considered in lieu of applicable experience.Proven experience with a multitude of electrical/construction projectsDemonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (Journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid state theory applicationKnowledge of complex analog and digital instrumentation and control systemsProper methods for troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting instruments and control systemsExperience administering safe methods to clear equipment, use of tools and plant safety rulesUnderstanding reporting procedures and practices and maintenance procedures and practicesKnowledge of electrical and mechanical printsFamiliarity with PV Solar plant terminology and nomenclatureQualified to perform routine and emergency operations at a solar generation facility and SwitchyardUnderstanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in placeKnowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulationsAbility to work overtime and non-standard working hours (nights), when neededAbility to operate a computer with technical proficiency of standard business softwareAble to communicate verbally and in writing and able to work without direct supervision during performance of workMust have a valid state drivers license and good driving recordAble to travel (approximately 5%)
It Would Be Nice If
