Responsibilities  Supervise and coordinate various subcontractors to ensure contract complianceAct as “First-In-Command” on projects and be professional, courteous, respectful, and helpful to everyone at all timesAssume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the projectProvide technical, manpower, means, and method input to the estimating process as requestedMonitor and ensure worker’s and all subcontractors’ safety and report all accidents IMMEDIATELY to Safety DirectorInvestigate all accidents and fill out an Accident Form completelyConduct effective and inclusive morning huddles with crews to coordinate daily and weekly activitiesConduct weekly safety meetings and all progress meetings as requiredAct as a safety champion on all projects and lead this role by example. Enforce all safety rules and write violations when workers are not following company safety proceduresCorrect unsafe conditions immediatelyReview, clarify, and understand the overall project scope as well as each subcontractor scope, plans, and specifications, schedule, an estimate of self-performed work, cost codes, general and special conditionsReview and understand subcontractor scope and scheduleWork with the Project Manager to develop the Project Schedule. Determine trade, staffing material, tool, and equipment requirements and confirm availability with Field Operations. Confirm Subcontractors can meet schedule requirements. Review schedule with customer.
Preferred Skills and ExpertiseStrong understanding of civil/site, architectural/finish, mechanical and electrical workThorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety requiredExcellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and supervisory skills are essentialAbility to read, understand, and interpret plans and specificationsThorough working knowledge of OSHA and safety, security, and environmental rules and regulationsExperience working with Primavera, Prolog, and ViewpointExcellent with problem-solving and planningCandidates must have 8+ years’ experience as a Superintendent on Industrial projects, leading large, multi-union crewsCandidates must have a four year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience10 hours of MIOSHA ClassOSHA 30 and MUST ModulesFirst Aid and CPR ClassAccident Investigation ClassPandoLogic.
