Per Se Group is hiring an O&M Technician for our client's highly efficient natural gas combined cycle facility featuring GE gas and GE steam turbines with air cooled condensers located in Morris, Illinois.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner.Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards.Collecting and recording all necessary equipment and Instrumentation data and manually operating valves.Monitoring and operating plant equipment and responding to plant upset events and emergencies.Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of all plant equipment to include instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment.Performs predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance.Coordinates the operational and maintenance activities performed on shift without oversight.Provides guidance to the O&M staff to operate and maintain the generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment.Makes operating decisions based on plant procedures, environmental regulations, safety procedures, and using good judgment based on operating data.Primarily focused on plant operations and will require rotating 12-hour shift work.
RequirementsMinimum of 3 years’ experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance at a Combined Cycle Power Plant, as a qualified plant operator and/or maintenance technicianHigh School Diploma or GED required.Experience with GE turbinesExperience in operations of a distributed control systems (DCS) preferredWillingness to perform work independently and a strong desire for personal ownership and responsibility for their workDemonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the Operations and Maintenance of a combustion turbine generating station, including balance of plant equipment.Ability to work shift work to include weekends, holidays, and be available for overtime as needed.Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and other computer-based productivity tools.Familiarity with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programsPhysical requirements include lifting 50lbs, standing for long periods, walking, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling etc.PandoLogic.
