As a part of the Architectural Services Department, you will participate in all aspects of the product development process, where we thrive on teamwork, collaboration, and innovative ideas. You will make a meaningful contribution to the company as you participate in the creation of the 3D building information model (BIM) within multiple systems, including AutoCAD. This includes design drawings, structural analysis, floor and roof framing layouts, wall bracing analysis, truss design, building code compliance, mechanical system and HVAC constructs, material takeoffs, and more. Once product development is complete, you will have the opportunity to partner with homebuilding personnel in resolving permitting and inspection issues and responding to questions. What you will be doing: Develop detailed residential construction documents and 3D building models in order to complete project requirements and meet project schedules. Complete project work independently in at least two of the following Architectural Team Disciplines:

Design – Floor plans, elevations, etc. Architecture – Layouts such floor framing, roof trusses, foundations, etc. Fabrication – Wall panel design Code & Engineering – Building codes and structural compliance HVAC – Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs Estimating – Material and quantity support

Maintain assigned portion of the project schedule and record accurate hours worked on each project. Coordinate with other team members regarding project components to ensure overall project completion and low idle time. May provide guidance to team members on one or more disciplines, leveraging advanced ability, experience, and knowledge to help others meet the quality and technical standards established by NVR. Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs to ensure assigned functions on each project are accurate without major changes required to correct structure, design, or established procedures and guidelines. Facilitate discussions, provide recommendations, and develop solutions with Homebuilding, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other NVR department personnel as needed. Consult with experts in different areas including structural and mechanical engineers, architects, estimating analysts, building code officials, truss engineers, and IT to ensure documents are complete and accurate. Coordinate phases of the project to be completed by 3rd party consultants, as directed. Qualified applicants have: Bachelor’s degree in an architecture, engineering, or construction related field. 6+ years’ experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industries. Experience using AutoCAD required. Ability to read and interpret construction documents. Experience with design development and creation of construction documentation. Experience in residential homebuilding or production homebuilding preferred. High level of attention to detail as well as strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, with strong communication skills. Experience planning and organizing the activities of others with demonstrated skill in follow-up and control. Experience leading, mentoring, and/or coaching junior team members preferred.
