Moreover, while teaching the skills required for tomorrow's physician leaders, our programs challenge trainees to explore and develop their interests through basic science, clinical and community-based research. The successful applicant for this position will be passionate about education, have program and project management experiences, and a desire to collaborate with a dynamic group of faculty, staff, and trainees on a mission to improve child health. The pediatric residency coordinator provides direction, leadership and day-to-day management and administration of educational and departmental activities to include curriculum and evaluation support to the Program Director, Associate Program Directors, and Chief Residents and educational coordination between attending physicians, residents, medical students and institutional and regulatory administrative offices. The coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem‑solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions and underlying management structure of the department and of the larger institution in organizing and independently prioritizing work, establishing procedures and systems, and ensuring orderly and timely workflow. Coordinates and administers human resource functions and participates in budget review and financial processes. Acts for and makes decisions in the program director’s absence within prescribed limits of authority. Administration, coordination and supervision of graduate medical education programs for residents. This position is a hybrid role with on‑site work at least 2 days per week in Palo Alto, CA. Applications must include a resume and cover letter to be considered. Duties include : Oversee daily activities of the residency program. Organize and prioritize the activities of the residents; monitor work progress status and ensure compliance with deadlines. Serve as contact person for the interpretation and application of policies, procedures and program guidelines. Troubleshoot discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions to be taken. Collaborate in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures and standards, and communicate associated changes. Coordinate licensing and credentialing processes, serving as the primary liaison with the Medical Board of California, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met. Support educational administration, including scheduling and preparing for CCCs, EPA reporting, annual program evaluations, and away elective processes. Perform all residency match responsibilities and correspond with newly matched residents about requirements and process for appointment to the hospitals. Ensure all interns are credentialed before starting any rotation. Administer grants and reports, including preparation of CHGME, CalMedForce, Song‑Brown, and other state‑funded grants; coordinate applications, reporting, and disbursements with SMCH Finance and institutional offices. Provide both administrative supervision and support to residents. Act as a liaison between residents and hospital administration when necessary. Establish relationships and act as a liaison to other hospitals, internal departments, and divisions regarding resident recruitment, orientation, annual program affiliation agreements, and external rotations. May assist in program‑level policy development and the development of the strategic planning of the residency program and monitor the budget for various residency activities. Plan departmental annual events, organizes meetings, assist in the preparation for ACGME Site Visits and internal reviews. Develop brochures, invitations, or advertisements for events / lectures. Manage financial operations, including reimbursements, budget tracking, and oversight of residency‑related expenditures. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is between $88,010 to $108,049 based on commensurate experience and background. Desired Qualifications Masters degree in Education preferred. Education & Experience (REQUIRED) Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, skills and abilities (REQUIRED) Ability to work independently and to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating priorities. Excellent organizational and analytical abilities, ability to handle diverse workload. Demonstrated good judgment in all areas of responsibility. Agile and quick learner who can adapt easily to Stanford specific software and clinically related software. Demonstrated ability to work well independently and take initiative while problem solving and resolving challenges. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with all levels of faculty and staff, and exhibit significant degree of diplomacy. Excellent customer service skills and ability to adapt to changing work environment. Proficient with Excel, Word and other applications required. Ability to learn, understand and apply Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or other subspecialties guidelines.
