U.S. News and World Report named GW Hospital as a High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) in 2024. This designation means that GW Hospital provides a high standard of care for patients with uncomplicated pregnancies. This designation is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News' Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.

Job Summary


The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our Radiology team. This role is critical in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of radiology services.





Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care before, during, and after radiology procedures.
Administer medications and contrast agents as necessary.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
Educate patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care.
Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate patient records and document all care provided.
Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standard

Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or radiation therapy.
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Strong clinical skills and experience with chemotherapy administration.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in radiation therapy nursing.
Advanced certification in Oncology Nursing (e.g., OCN, AOCN).
