MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.Job SummaryUnder the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Family Services Specialist (Migrant Ed) identifies and recruits qualified children into programs sponsored by a federal Migrant Education Program providing supplemental instruction and parent education services to children of migrant parents. Provides case management, data management, quality control of forms, and other services that ensure retention of families and students. This position requires the ability to identify and recruit qualified children, provide referrals to related services and to feel confident in accessing any necessary services.Requirements / QualificationsPlease carefully review the attached job description for minimum requirements. EXPERIENCE: One year of experience working in education, social services or related field with students from a variety of cultures in a bilingual setting. SKILLS: Must be bilingual/biliterate in the language of the families being served. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Family Services Specialist (Migrant Ed) identifies and recruits qualified children into programs sponsored by a federal Migrant Education Program providing supplemental instruction and parent education services to children of migrant parents. SELECTION PROCESS: Applications will be reviewed for the satisfaction of minimum qualifications, including submitting all required documents. A maximum of eight applicants will be invited for a panel interview. All candidates will be notified via email following the final selection.
