Position Summary The Human Resources Solutions Architect is a strategic advisor who reports indirectly to the Human Resources Solutions Technology Lead within Corporate & Teammate Applications Tower in Global Technology. The architect supports the Solutions Technology Lead as they drive transformational work to modernize and fully automate the business model and to support the transition toward a resilient, growth‑oriented, future‑fit operating model. This role requires the ability to understand HR business models, technologies, and operations to effectively interpret business goals, outcomes, capabilities, value‑streams, and processes. The solutions architect provides leadership, analysis, and design work, leads the review of technology solutions to meet business needs, and aligns with technology, architectural, security, governance, and standards. Deliverables include managing the organization’s portfolio of “to be” and “as is” solutions—including systems (applications, processes, and information), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services—enabling and driving targeted business outcomes. The architect proactively and holistically leads activities that guide the development of stakeholders’ portfolio of solutions. They understand strategic and operational intentions, explore risk implications, and mitigate impacts on teammates, processes, HR systems, and the overall enterprise technology ecosystem. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Understand business drivers and capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive targeted business outcomes. Understand emerging technology trends and disruptions and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models. Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives, documenting all solution architecture design and analysis work. Analyze the technology industry, competitors, and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise. Create deliverables such as standard definitions, reference models, and architecture designs to aid the Architecture Review Board (ARB) in assessing new technology, scale, existing technology, and integrations to Under Armour’s technical ecosystem. Align technology application to resolve business outcomes in adherence to enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and security. Lead consultation on various technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes. Document architecture for vendor technology and services, focused design, integrations, detailed APIs, major systems, and dependencies between business and IT. Analyze the business–IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy issues, and technical debt, recommending solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation). Own application ratification and lead the end‑of‑life (EOL) program to maintain, upgrade, or retire applications. Work closely with the Transformation Office to ensure that execution of plans corresponds with promised outcomes throughout the transformation journey. Drive for architectural excellence to accelerate stakeholder and enterprise digital future, extending technology ROI. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments. Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their practical application to business and operating models. Strong grasp of product management, agile principles, development methodologies, and ability to advise agile teams on opportunities, impact, and risks while accounting for technical and architectural debt. Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps. Ability to create targeted messages and presentations for senior executives. Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (waterfall, spiral, agile, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, DevOps). Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information‑technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, or cloud development. Minimum of 5 years of technical experience leading HR technologies and systems with direct support of HR business operations. Experienced enterprise and business architect with HR domain knowledge. Previous role owning the architecture and technical components of global large‑scale human capital management vendor application projects or HR digital transformations. Current HCM or SAP SuccessFactors certification. Other Requirements Have a global view and must be organizationally savvy, capable of navigating the business and technology landscape. Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making. Ability to articulate innovative ideas and concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences. Ability to understand long‑term (“big picture”) and short‑term perspectives of situations. Translate future‑state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements. Interpret data to inform stakeholders of technology, architecture, and financial impacts, recommending alternatives for informed decision making. Work collaboratively, using visual, design thinking, and analytical skills to solve business problems and propose solutions.
