Travel: No. Position Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Bellevue, NE is currently seeking an Sr. Principal Engineer Software. Responsibilities The successful candidates will demonstrate a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities achieving sustainable quality products. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidates will participate in the entire software development lifecycle with a concentration in software engineering. The candidates will work closely with other software developers accomplishing the following: Complete work independently and as a part of an Agile teamSupport team in completing necessary software on scheduleSolve complex problems through innovative and creative solutionsCollaborate with software designers and/or software engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software systemsRegularly demonstrate progress to customers Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer Software A high school diploma with a minimum of 12 years of software development experienceA bachelor's in science degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of software development experienceA master's in science degree in a STEM field with 6 years of software development experience Experience with object‑oriented programming, web development frameworks, and full stack application architectures Proven experience with Linux OS.Familiarity with relational database management systems (Oracle/PDBs) and SQLWorking knowledge of the Agile development processesFamiliarity with Test automation practices and tools (Integration testing, Unit testing, QFTest)Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical teamsAbility to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project resultsAbility to obtain/maintain access to work full time on-site in Bellevue, NE.Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Agile software development environment.Experience with Infrastructure as Code:Container Management Platforms such as RKE2, AWS, OpenShift, etc.Automation technologies such as Ansible, Helm, etc.Virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Proxmox, etc.Experience with DevSecOps:Implementing and maintaining CI/CD software pipelinesAutomating the securing and hardening software productsEnabling operations and maintenance activities with Infrastructure as CodeCreating solutions that encourage Dev-Prod ParitySoftware Security Tools:SonarQubeDemonstrated use of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and configuration management (BitBucket)Demonstrated use of collaboration tool suites (Atlassian, GitLab)Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance. Salary Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Benefits and Compensation Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
