Senior Platform Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer – Salesforce at Prudential Financial Location: Newark, NJ (hybrid; minimum 3 days per week in office) Join our Global Technology team and transform retirement security by building innovative, scalable, and efficient digital platforms. We focus on modernizing how we deliver retirement services through automation, advanced data capabilities, and cutting‑edge technology. Responsibilities Liaise between business analysts, internal systems teams, and external vendors to develop solutions that meet business requirements. Perform full‑cycle programming tasks—including design, development, testing, and documentation—for complex Salesforce projects. Maintain and create technical documentation for solutions developed. Stay up‑to‑date on Salesforce initiatives and technology trends to improve platform efficiencies. Provide daily support to end users, managing issue resolution and conducting root‑cause analysis. Escalate system issues to senior management when appropriate. Facilitate system testing with business analysts, write test scripts, and execute test cases. Act as a subject‑matter expert in Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and related applications. Coordinate production releases and work towards an Agile delivery methodology. Write unit, integration, and functional automation tests; research problems discovered by QA or product support to create solutions. Analyze complex problems and evaluate data to identify opportunities for improvement. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 5‑7+ years of experience designing and developing custom Salesforce solutions (Apex, Lightning, batch Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce APIs). Advanced knowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms, including Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud. Proficiency with flows, platform events, large data volumes, performance optimization, and security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, SSL, SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0). Experience integrating Salesforce with AWS and other external services via REST, JSON, or event streaming. Strong written and oral communication skills and proven collaboration in Agile teams. Knowledge of Salesforce development best practices and test‑driven development. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Vlocity/OmniStudio. Experience with Bitbucket and DevOps automation tools. Skill in using SOAPUI, Postman, and Selenium for testing. Industry experience in financial or insurance services. Benefits Competitive base salary with annual bonus potential.
