Since 1983, Vehrs Distributing has been on a mission to create and deliver the best premium wine and spirits portfolio in the Pacific Northwest. We are looking to hire a Warehouse Lead who is responsible for quality and control of all order picking, and securing the warehouse at the end of the day. This position will work directly under the supervision of the Warehouse Operations Manager and Inventory Control Specialist at our Kent warehouse. This position is responsible for staging orders, processing all returns back into Home Bins both physically and systematically , and maintaining the warehouse cleanliness.

Reports to:

Warehouse Operations Manager

Essential Functions:

Designation and quality control of all order picking.

Ensure picking is completed based on factors of timing, route priority and other relevant factors determined by management.

Work with team members to ensure warehouse staff works efficiently and accurately.

Work with team to ensure mispicks do not occur, double check and verify all orders.

Participate in continuous training of order pickers to ensure zero mispicks.

Ensure all returns are accounted for and put away and/or disposed of the day they are returned .

Ensure any route changes are executed and invoices are placed on the correct route.

Load trucks at end of each night and have all invoices stacked and ready in each van.

Clean and maintain warehouse.

Shipping product as requested.

Other projects as needed.

Work with the Inventory Control Specialist to ensure 100 % accuracy of inventory.

Conduct cycle counts and help to locate and identify any product not in its correct Home Bin.

The above-listed items are not all encompassing and may change from time to time. As with any position with Vehrs, this position is required to do whatever is needed to accomplish the common goals of the company.

Skills and Qualifications:

Leadership skills as well as being part of a team, safety conscious , deadline oriented, dependable, time management, organization, and problem-solving skills. You must be able to operate a forklift and have completed a forklift training program. Computer skills are necessary. Must have valid Washington State Drivers License.

Physical Requirements:

You must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time, and be able to bend, reach, kneel, stoop and grasp. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and must be able to meet the demanding challenges of loading/unloading and have no physical lifting limitations.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required

Age Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older

Other Requirements:

Must have valid Washington State Driver's License

Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test as well as a physical exam.

Shift is Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM and Friday 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
