Base pay range $220,000.00/yr - $280,000.00/yr Automation Sales Engineer, Vertical Solutions Mid-Atlantic Preferred (Hybrid) | Regional Travel A growing warehouse automation group is hiring an Automation Sales Engineer to drive growth in VLM (Vertical Lift Module) solutions across multiple industry sectors including healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and modern storage environments. This role is focused on consultative selling, partnering with an existing sales team, and expanding market reach with new customers. What You’ll Do Work alongside existing account reps to uncover automation opportunities within active customer relationships Prospect new industries and applications where VLMs can transform space, workflow, and storage efficiency Manage full sales process including discovery, application review, quoting, product demonstrations, and solution development Partner with engineering resources to design and validate solutions—collaborating, not handing off Support proposal development and help build a growing automation revenue stream What Makes You a Fit Background selling automation, engineered systems, industrial technology, or capital equipment Strong prospecting skills and comfort building a pipeline from both new and existing accounts Consultative selling approach with strong technical curiosity Bonus: Experience with VLMs, Keyence/Cognex-style solutions, or similar engineered technology Hybrid flexibility after onboarding Regional travel to customer facilities across the territory Hands‑on training including factory onboarding, ride‑alongs, and product immersion What Success Looks Like Generating new logo activity and uncovering previously overlooked opportunities Supporting quoting activity the team hasn’t touched before Building strong internal relationships with sales and engineering Long‑term goal: ~20+ VLM systems sold annually If you’re energized by technical selling, discovery‑based prospecting, and helping customers modernize storage and efficiency this role offers strong growth, autonomy, and future leadership opportunity.
