Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative R&D Food Scientist to join our team and play a key role in the development of cutting-edge food products. The ideal candidate will possess strong sensory skills, a creative mindset, and a solid understanding of food production processes. This role will require a collaborative approach, with the ability to work closely with various teams to develop and scale innovative food solutions.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Sensory Evaluation: Utilize well-developed sensory skills to distinguish subtle flavor nuances, textures, and aromas in food products. Provide expert feedback on product development, flavor profiles, and ingredient interactions.
  • Product Innovation: Lead creative experiments in product development, including the exploration of new ingredients, flavor combinations, and food processes. Drive innovation through proactive idea generation and by experimenting with new techniques in food science.
  • Food Production Understanding: Leverage knowledge of food production processes to ensure that new products can be effectively scaled from concept to production. Collaborate with the Production Team to address practical challenges and optimize ingredient applications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams, to brainstorm, test, and refine new food products and flavors.
  • Adaptability and Learning: Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, industry trends, and specialized food science concepts, particularly around flavors and ingredient functionality.
  • Communication and Feedback: Communicate ideas clearly and effectively with internal teams. Be open to receiving and incorporating feedback to refine and improve products. Document and present findings and progress regularly.


Key Collaborators:



  • Research and Development (R&D) Team: Work in tandem to generate and test ideas, ensuring the success of new products and flavor profiles.
  • Quality Assurance Team: Collaborate to ensure that all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the development cycle.
  • Production Team: Partner with production professionals to scale new recipes or products and address practical constraints related to flavor application and ingredient use.


Key Requirements:



  • Strong Sensory Skills: Ability to discern and analyze flavor profiles, textures, and other sensory attributes of food products.
  • Creativity and Innovation: A passion for exploring new ideas and technologies in food science. A mindset focused on problem-solving and forward-thinking approaches to food development.
  • Experience in Food Production: A strong foundation in food production processes and techniques. Familiarity with how ingredients interact in large-scale production settings is essential.
  • Adaptability and Willingness to Learn: Ability to quickly adapt to new concepts, learn about industry-specific technologies, and continually evolve skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborative and Communication Skills: Effective teamwork and communication skills to work across departments, share ideas, and take constructive feedback.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience in food product development or innovation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the food industry.
  • Hands-on experience with sensory testing and analysis.
