The candidate will have over mechanical design, thermal and static analysis, material selection, environmental ruggedization, and payload/platform system safety & integration experience, to work on a program at Point Mugu, CA. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.ResponsibilitiesDemonstratable experience in MBSE/Digital Engineering capabilitiesCreate mechanical designs and CAD models for payloads and assembliesPerform thermal and structural FEA analysisSelect materials and design for environmental ruggedizationSupport payload integration on platforms including mounts and harness routingProduce manufacturing documentation with GD&T and tolerancesSupport vibration, thermal, and environmental testing10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer5 years of mechanical design/analysis experienceProficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CreoExperience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, COMSOLExperience with thermal analysis and environmental qualificationStrong knowledge of materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processesDesired ExperienceReverse-engineering exposure and solutioningLine Replacement Unit, Assembly, and system level TestSystem Safety EngineeringParticipant in a system level engineering effort; System Engineering resourceRequirements definitionEducationDegree BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) or a relevant technical disciplineClearanceCLEARANCE - SECRETCondition of EmploymentApplicant must be able to be found eligible and sustain an active DoD SECRET Clearance.
