Opportunity for an Adult Cardiologist with Congenital Heart Disease Training at Childrens Hospital of MichiganChildrens Hospital of Michigan is the leader in treating the most children and adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) for cardiovascular care in the Metropolitan Detroit area. We have a large volume of adult patients with CHD (ACHD) supported with certified cardiologists in ACHD, two cardiac surgeons who perform surgery, interventional and EP cardiologists who perform procedures in these patients. We are in the process of certification for the center of excellence for the ACHD at Childrens Hospital of Michigan. With an extensive team of attendings and a dedicated nursing staff, the Pediatric Cardiologists and Pediatric Cardiovascular surgeons at Childrens Hospital of Michigan provides a full range of advanced cardiac services for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital or acquired heart disease, and for adults with congenital heart disease.The Cardiology and Heart Surgery programs at Childrens Hospital of Michigan are ranked among the U.S. News & World Reports 2021-2022 Best Childrens Hospitals. Our program is also designated as one of two UNOS certified cardiac transplant centers in the state of Michigan.We are actively seeking an additional cardiologist with training/experience to join our robust program to participate in the care of the burgeoning ACHD patients. . Full-time, employed opportunity - Available immediatelyOn service 4 weeks per year (Cardiology service)Work week is flexible and comprised of 2 days of clinic, 1 day in the cath lab if eligible, and 1 administrative day; teaching requiredDedicated nursing staff of five with one that is designated for ACHD, and additional for cath/EPAcademic appointment through Central Michigan UniversityAffiliation with Central Michigan University, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University School of Medicine for collaboration in teaching and researchCandidate Requirements:MD or DO degree requiredBoard certification requiredAt least 1 year of advanced fellowship training in ACHDAbility to obtain licensure in the State of MichiganAn interest in teaching and research highly preferred as resident/fellow teaching is to be expectedHow to Apply:If interested, please submit a copy of your current CV and contact information for immediate consideration.All inquiries and personal information are kept confidential.
