*JOB SUMMARY:*

Provides nursing services, performs nursing procedures, patient education, and triage clinical concerns. The RN will be trained to work in both clinic and infusion, complex auto Immune conditions. Expansion into the research division if the nurse has interest (location dependent).

*CLINIC ROLE:*

· Administers injectable biologics (Xolair, Fasenra, Dupixent, Nucala, Tezspire) using sterile technique. Also performs “1stbiologic” education to patients receiving these therapies.

· Administers other therapies in clinic (SCIG, HAE, rheumatology meds, etc.). Educates patients on these therapies. Performs training for patients to self-inject at home.

· Member of the “Patient Engagement Team” which includes:

- Phone and patient portal triage. Will address clinical concerns and consult with a provider when necessary

- Helps with insurance authorizations for all biologic therapies (infusion and injectable) by gathering clinical information for medical necessity packet

- Facilitates order sign-off or verbal orders between provider and specialty pharmacy

*INFUSION ROLE:*

The RN will also cross-train in our infusion centers and serve as a PRN nurse. Infusion duties include:

· Maintains safe and clean work environment.

· Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and procedures, medication administration and storage

· Maintains continuity of care by documentation and communication within all team members

· Provide care for and treats patients while in the infusion center, as directed by the provider

· Intake of each infusion patient to include, updating current medications, allergies, past medical history, recent visits to other physicians or hospital

· Preparation of infusible product and administration of product per clinical protocols

· Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient

· Cleans infusion rooms as needed daily

· Stocks infusion area, including rooms and infusion start up area

· Performs venipuncture, port access, proper sterile technique

· Administers injections as ordered by physician/PA/ NP.

· Coordinates and performs lab draws

· Vital signs according to infusion protocol.

· Potential opportunity to infuse in our research department if location allows and RN is interested

*REQUIRED EDUCATION:*

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred. Registered nurse with valid nursing license in Colorado.

*REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:*

1. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a registered nurse with one year of infusion preferred

2. Current CPR certification

3. CRNI certification preferred

*REQUIRED SKILLS:*

1. Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with patients, staff, and community.

2. Computer skills: familiar with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

3. Professional verbal and written communication skills.

*EQUIPMENT USED:*

Standard office equipment, including, but not limited to computer, phone, fax, copier. Medical equipment to include vitals machine and infusion pump (Syringe, Volumetric), vital signs equipment, oxygen tanks and nebulizers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
