Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineering to join our team and focus on the testing of Battery Electric Locomotive components and drive control systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, diodes, contactors, capacitors, and drive controls. The role requires troubleshooting skills, collaborative problem-solving abilities, and a fundamental knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Verify and validate Battery Electric Locomotive components, including inverters, converters, power electronics, and their controls.
Ensure components meet all requirements by executing robust verification and validation plans in Power Electronics Labs, B44, and on locomotives in B60.
Work collaboratively with the team to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions.
Understand and test traction inverters, interfaces with Battery Management Systems (BMS), and locomotive OHV system controllers.
Test and validate drives and drive control systems.
Test IGBTs, contactors, capacitors, reactors, and relays, including EQT and FQT testing of components.
Verify and validate TMC and ALC control strategies using C programming and MATLAB models.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, with a focus on power electronics, capacitors, reactors, and relays.
Understanding of C programming for control systems.
Proficiency in MATLAB models and control systems.
Compensation:
The pay rate range above is the base hourly pay range that Aditi Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
