Sr Data Scientist – PharmaLex Join our team to solve real-world problems in pharmaceutical manufacturing through advanced analytics and data science. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who can lead projects, collaborate with cross‑functional partners, and deliver impactful insights. Summary of Role The Data Scientist will lead advanced analytics projects across the PR Operations Organization, partnering with commercial insights, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and external vendors. The role requires end‑to‑end ownership of projects, from defining business problems to delivering solutions that create measurable business impact. Responsibilities Lead the use and development of data science, machine learning, and AI capabilities across the commercial organization. Own projects within cross‑functional teams, systematically deriving insights that generate substantial business value. Work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to identify business needs and propose analytical approaches. Build high‑performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts using Python or R. Write SQL and other database query languages to extract and transform data. Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to develop appropriate methodology and answer specific business questions. Present analysis ideas, progress, and results to business partners in a clear and impactful manner. Create compelling stories in PowerPoint, using the MS Office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint. Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and privacy requirements related to data assets. Shift Administrative Location Juncos, PR Education • Doctorate OR Master’s degree in Science or Engineering with at least 3 years of data science or related experience, OR • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with at least 5 years of data science or related experience. Preferred: Engineering or computer science background. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation. Experience with Apache Spark and Databricks workspaces for advanced analytics. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, or Power BI, with an understanding of UX design principles. Understanding of machine learning algorithms, model development, and evaluation techniques. Experience with multivariate statistical analysis and tools such as SIMCA for data exploration and predictive modeling. Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional work. Experience integrating diverse data sources (e.g., PAT, LIMS, MES, OSIsoft PI) for end‑to‑end process analytics and digital transformation initiatives.
