Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus Job Description Our client is seeking a Director of Accounting who will lead the accounting function, overseeing a team of accountants, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in manufacturing environments with strong inventory & cost accounting, proven leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, PE-backed company organization. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team across AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting functions. Oversee the month-end close process, reducing the reporting timeline to a 5-day close timeline. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements. Manage fixed assets, expense reporting, and cost accounting for inventory. Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and the private equity sponsor on reporting and compliance matters. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP. Drive process improvements and implement best practices across the accounting function. Provide financial insights and reporting to support executive decision-making. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership to align financial processes with business objectives. Prepare the accounting function to support long-term strategic objectives, ensuring adaptability for evolving business needs. Qualifications: CPA required or strongly preferred. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree a plus. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles. Public accounting foundation is a plus. Experience in manufacturing or similar companies with inventory and cost accounting. Strong background in transactional accounting (AP, AR, payroll, GL, etc). Prior experience in a private equity-owned environment is a plus. Proven leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
