Description

Tower Crew - Foreman

Job Summary:

The Tower Crew Foreman is responsible for the safety of personnel performing work on telecom towers, conducting site audits, and helping crews upgrade existing hardware. This is a working position, and the foreman is required to climb communication towers, radio towers, and other structures working at heights to provide access to areas that would otherwise be inaccessible. The foreman also ensures that technicians carry out work in accordance with company and legal standards. This position must comply with all relevant safety regulations and standards. The individual must also be capable of following instructions and working independently with minimal supervision.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting work performed by tower crews.
  • Ensuring that work conforms to company and legal health and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring that team members perform work at heights safely and effectively.
  • Report possible health and safety hazards.
  • Complete projects in accordance with specific processes and specifications.
  • Track and report the progression of work on each project.
  • Assemble, erect, and maintain communication towers and antennas.
  • Climb towers to install and replace antennas, cabling, and other components.
  • Perform inspections and tests to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Diagnose and repair faults onsite.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are adhered to.
  • Climbing and working on communications structures.
  • Installing, replacing, and repairing equipment located at height.
  • Travel with crew (company vehicle provided) to job locations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • NWSA TTT1 Certification required.
  • Must be able to lead a Three-person crew with efficiency
  • Must be able to read and understand CDs (Construction Drawings)
  • Must be able to read and understand RFDS (Radio Frequency Data Sheet)
  • OSHA 30 is required.
  • Must be able to climb tall structures 50-300'+ and work at heights with 50 lbs. of gear.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Good balance and coordination.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and arrive on time consistently.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and use of hand tools required.
Travel Requirements:
  • 6-8 consecutive weeks of travel at a time, required.
  • Out-of-state and overnight travel required.
  • Overtime, per diem, and paid drive time when traveling.

Salary Description

$30 - $40 / hour
