OverviewWe are looking for a highly motivated Lead Backend Engineer who is eager to take ownership, drive innovation, and establish best practices for our backend systems. In this role, you will lead the technical direction and introduce standards, processes, and guidelines to elevate the engineering team. You will work closely with product managers and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into scalable, high-quality backend solutions.We are seeking strong experience in Java 8, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate, and the ability to write complex SQL queries. This is a lead role requiring hands-on development and mentorship.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Vision & Leadership: Design scalable, maintainable backend architectures, set engineering standards, and promote best practices.Team Leadership: Lead a team of backend engineers (onshore/offshore), mentor members, ensure efficient execution, and foster a high-performance culture.Process & Code Excellence: Define and enforce coding guidelines, best practices, and automation to improve code quality and maintainability.Hands-on Development: Actively contribute to backend development using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot, ensuring high performance and reliability.Microservices Transformation: Lead the transition from monolithic to modern microservices architecture.Cloud & Infrastructure: Collaborate with cloud architects to deploy and optimize applications on AWS.Database Management: Utilize strong MySQL skills to design and manage efficient database structures and queries.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with the product team and other stakeholders, communicating complex technical concepts clearly.QualificationsTechnical SkillsStrong expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring BootDeep understanding of microservices architecture and best practicesProficiency in MySQL and relational database designExperience with AWS cloud servicesFamiliarity with Hibernate (preferred)Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and containerization (a plus)ExperienceMinimum 10+ years in backend development2+ years of experience leading a development teamProven ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance systemsSoft SkillsStrong ownership mindset with a passion for driving change and setting standardsExceptional communication skills—able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to simplify complex concepts for the product team and business stakeholdersHunger for learning, innovation, and improving team efficiencyBonus PointsExperience with Azure DevOpsStrong understanding of CI/CD pipelinesExposure to event-driven architecture and KafkaIf you’re a self-driven engineer eager to take a team to the next level, build smart solutions, and set new industry standards, we’d love to hear from you #J-18808-Ljbffr
