Job Title: Sales Associate

Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried

Reports to: Director of Sales/Area Manager

Location: Central California (Kern, Fresno, Tulare, and Kings Counties)


Overview: The Sales Associate will play a pivotal role in driving sales and fostering relationships in the Central California region. This position is responsible for promoting company's drip irrigation products and building strong relationships with new and existing distributors. The role also involves developing and executing sales and marketing strategies to boost product sales and expand market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell the full Paragon product line, with an emphasis on the Drip Irrigation Products Portfolio.
  • Maintain a high level of market presence through frequent interactions with Distribution Partners, Contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide timely customer/distributor quotes as needed.
  • Manage the sales territory by forecasting, budgeting expenses, and conducting market and competitor analysis.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop territory-specific strategies, market approaches, and project plans.
  • Organize and lead educational seminars, product tours, and demonstrations.
  • Meet or exceed established sales, net income, and market share goals.
  • Assist in creating sales presentations, documentation, and marketing materials for training, promotions, and product education.
  • Provide comprehensive product training to customers, ensuring they understand the features, advantages, benefits, pricing, and terms of Paragon products.
  • Represent Paragon at trade shows and conferences.
  • Conduct market research and gather competitor intelligence to support strategic planning.
  • Work with marketing teams to enhance brand awareness.
  • Travel in the assigned territory in California (Kern, Tulare, Kings, or Fresno) to meet with clients and drive sales.

Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, and financial management within a regional business context.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with Distributors.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the design, installation, and maintenance of irrigation systems, with the ability to convey product benefits in a consultative sales approach.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and achieve results across varied personality types.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ag-Business, Agronomics, Crop Science, Marketing, or a related field with a strong understanding of agriculture and crops.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in irrigation sales.
  • Experience in the irrigation industry, including system design, installation, or operation.
  • Fluency in English is required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to be covered under corporate liability insurance.
  • Must reside within the defined sales territory, preferably within the region of responsibility.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport boxes and office supplies (up to 40 lbs.) as needed.

Travel Requirements:

  • Daily travel using a company-provided vehicle.
  • Occasional overnight travel as necessary for business needs.
