Accessible Housing Austin (AHA) is a dynamic Austin‑based nonprofit community housing development organization founded in 2005 with the mission to create affordable, accessible, integrated housing opportunities in Central Texas. AHA is seeking a full‑time Executive Director to lead the organization, develop programs, manage finances, and ensure the safety and well‑being of residents. Position Title: Executive Director Hours per Week: 40 hours per week; some evening/weekend activities Reports to: AHA Board of Directors Job Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the organization and reports to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will plan, develop, and implement housing activities to support the operation of the properties currently owned and develop future properties and programs. The Executive Director will supervise agency staff and develop resources to support AHA specifically. Oversee all activities in carrying out organizational goals and activities related to affordable, accessible, integrated housing project development and coordination. Maintain excellent working relationships with the Board of Directors. Build and maintain strong working relationships with local and state government units to advance the mission of AHA and secure ongoing support. Build and maintain relationships with foundations, donors, and other benefactors to ensure ongoing support of the organization and its mission. Oversee all aspects of human resource management, including hiring, supervision, termination, position descriptions, compensation, and employee communication. Ensure financial viability through budgeting, fundraising, and resource allocation. Build and maintain partnerships with both for‑profit and not‑for‑profit partners to advance the mission of AHA. Represent the organization at meetings, fundraising and public events, and to the media. Develop and maintain relationships with lenders, investors, and others to further the organization's work. Manage accounting procedures to assure timely completion of financial reports for internal use and grant reporting purposes. Prepare or oversee the preparation of project and billing documents to secure timely reimbursement of funds. Manage property management staff to assure health, safety of residents, and protection of affordable housing assets. Manage project development staff to effect acquisition, preservation, and production of affordable, accessible, integrated housing. Submit, renew, or supplement all applications, licenses, permits, and forms necessary for AHA operations. Report activities and other duties as assigned.
