About Children’s Service of RoxburyFounded in 1972, Children’s Services of Roxbury (CSR) is the largest Black‑owned and operated nonprofit in the region. Our Behavioral Health Department (BHD) offers a comprehensive array of high‑quality, culturally‑sensitive mental health services that provide children and families with the support they need for success at home, in school, and in the community.Position SummaryFamily support and training is a service provided to the parent/caregiver of a youth (under the age of 21) in any setting where the youth resides, such as the home (including foster homes and therapeutic foster homes), and other community settings. The Family Partner’s purpose is to resolve or ameliorate the youth’s emotional and behavioral needs by improving the parent’s capacity to parent, thereby enhancing the youth’s functioning as identified in the outpatient or in‑home therapy treatment plan or Individual Care Plan (ICP). This is a full‑time role located at our Roxbury site requiring 40 hours per week and the ability to travel to multiple locations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngage the parent/caregiver in learning how to network and access community resources and services, including how to connect with treatment providers.Advocate for and access resources to address the youth’s emotional and behavioral needs.Work closely with the family and any existing/referring behavioral health providers to ensure implementation of the objectives and goals identified in the treatment plan.Participate in all care planning meetings and processes for the youth.Interact with agencies such as DMH, DCF, DYS, DPH, etc. to support services/care planning and coordination on behalf of and with the youth and parent/caregiver.Coordinate and attend all Care Planning Team meetings and treatment team meetings.Attend weekly CSA staff meetings.Report weekly to the Senior Family Partner and keep the supervisor updated on all cases.Complete all necessary paperwork and data entry assignments in a timely manner.Education / Required Skills and ExperienceExperience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs and preferably mental health needs. (Family caregiver refers to any biological, kinship, foster, and/or adoptive family/caregiver responsible for the care of a youth).Experience navigating any child and family‑serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with those systems.Ability to appropriately use personal experience in navigating medical/mental health systems.Must have exceptional writing and communication skills.Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university and one (1) year of experience working with the target population, ORAssociate’s degree in a Human Service field from an accredited school and one (1) year of experience working with children/adolescents/transition‑age youth, ORHigh school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with children/adolescents/transition‑age youth.Must possess a current valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and have proof of automobile insurance.Provide culturally competent services to ensure recognition of economic status, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, language, and the unique values and goals for each youth and family.Willingness and ability to seek consultation and additional services when necessary to overcome barriers impacting the delivery of care.Measurable GoalsParents/caregivers find purpose and receive comfort from your presence.ICP and treatment plan goals are achieved.Family Partners are integral members of the Intensive Care Team.Provide services in the primary language of the youth and caregiver families served.Ideal MindsetIncumbent should be creative, flexible, and personable.An energetic go‑getter with a bright spirit.An individual who loves achieving targets and aspiring toward an excellent client experience.BenefitsHealth, vision, and dental insurance.401(k) plan.Paid sick leave.Employee discount program providing discounts on thousands of products and services.Work with a professional, dedicated, and compassionate team of people.Help us continue the important work of changing and saving lives.At Children’s Services of Roxbury, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
