Software Engineer–Developer (Experienced or Senior) Join Boeing as a Software Engineer–Developer (Experienced or Senior) in Everett, Washington. You will support the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering team, working on next‑generation digital connectivity projects for BCA business. Position Responsibilities Designing and developing microservices for custom Linux solutions, leveraging containers, APIs, and inter‑process communication. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams—software engineers, architects, product managers, and stakeholders—to define technical solutions and deliver the application. Implementing best practices and coding standards, contributing to code reviews and providing constructive feedback. Ensuring security and reliability via robust error handling, fault tolerance, and security measures. Staying current on emerging technologies in computing, microservices architecture, and related tools. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering on Linux‑based platforms. 3+ years of experience developing software in high‑availability computing environments. 5+ years of experience in real‑time software development. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) Bachelor of Science in engineering, technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience (or equivalent education). Level 4: 10+ years of related work experience (or equivalent education). Strong understanding of C, C++, Java, and Python. Experience with microservices and APIs. Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes. Experience with object‑oriented design patterns. Experience with database design and SQL. Experience with Git CI/CD continuous integration and deployment. Knowledge of networking protocols and IP communication technologies. Experience with communications and data security (e.g., PKI). Understanding of enterprise‑level development practices and coding standards. Understanding of Custom Linux using Yocto Framework.
