We serve customers in industries spanning aerospace and defense, specialized vehicles, turf care and fuel systems.About This RoleTextron Systems is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team. This individual will work as part of a multidisciplined design engineering team during the development phases of an emerging program. The individual will be responsible for developing new FPGA designs with an emphasis on simulation and verification, and the transition of those designs into ASICs. The individual should be fluent in VHDL code techniques required to implement decoders, encoders, shift registers, counters, and state machines to control serial bus data transfers, decode & execute commands, and generate simple parallel data stream outputs. Our Design Engineering team focuses on developing and improving new product designs to support advanced emerging programs for military customers.QualificationsGreater than 10 years of experience in Mixed Signal electronics designHighly experienced VHDL designer with ASIC experienceDesign of decoders, registers, counters, and state machines to decode serial commands, control serial data transfers, and generate variable pulse widthsStrong simulation and verification skills with Test Bench experienceXilinx experience in ISE and Vivado preferredDemonstrated software documentation disciplineExperience working within a formal software development environmentSupport programming and debugging of FPGAGuide and support conversion of VHDL code into an ASICEducation: BS in electrical engineering or computer programming; MS is a plusActive security clearance is preferred; eligibility for clearance is requiredHow We CareAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
