The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sanctions team is dedicated to rigorous, nimble, and sustainable risk management, with the Sanctions compliance and screening program forming a core risk function within the AML department. The AML and sanctions teams partner across the first, second, and third lines of defense to mitigate risk associated with Capital One’s products, services, and capabilities. This Associate will serve in the second line of defense, ensuring corporate initiatives and line‑of‑business processes comply with applicable sanctions laws and regulations. The role provides sanctions compliance advice, supports onboarding of new products and lines of business, and engages in process improvements, risk assessments, and stakeholder interactions across the enterprise. Responsibilities Support senior advisors in effective challenge and preparation for various forum interactions. Assist lines of business in applying sanctions compliance requirements for new products, process development, controls development, monitoring, remediation of compliance breakdowns, and changes in law or regulation. Help develop and maintain the sanctions compliance program, including monitoring, reporting, and training. Participate in targeted validations on controls over applicable regulations and sanctions compliance testing. Develop understanding of the Compliance Risk Management Framework and applicable laws and regulations. Capture, maintain, and analyze sanctions compliance data. Assist in training development and delivery for compliance and line‑of‑business associates. Support senior advisors on projects and reporting activities. Provide flexibility to travel to various Capital One locations when necessary. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification. At least 2 years of experience in AML, sanctions, risk management, international relations, or compliance. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. 3+ years of experience in AML, sanctions, risk management, international relations, or compliance. 2+ years of Google Workspace experience. 1+ year of experience working in payments.
