Scientist II – Pleasanton, CA W2 Contract – 1 year with possible extensions Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Pay Rate: $60.00 - $67.13 /hour – Determined based on experience Work Model: Onsite role BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Scientist II to join our client’s site in Pleasanton, CA. This role will support laboratory experimentation, data analysis, documentation, and routine lab operations under general supervision. Responsibilities include conducting experiments using established procedures, analyzing results, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating findings through reports and presentations. The role operates within internal safety guidelines and applicable regulatory standards. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct and monitor laboratory experiments using established and published procedures Recommend solutions to issues encountered during experimental procedures Summarize experimental results and review conclusions with supervisor or project leader Communicate results through reports and presentations Analyze experimental data using data analysis software and/or quantitative methods; document process improvements Prepare technical reports and documentation; may present findings at internal meetings Maintain accurate and consistent electronic notebook entries Participate in routine lab maintenance, lab safety, ISO, and QSR activities May troubleshoot instrumentation-related issues Plan and execute work based on general instructions Stay informed on scientific trends and developments May collaborate with individuals or teams outside the immediate functional area Apply broad concepts of the relevant field to solve problems of limited scope Evaluate alternative approaches to solve problems or develop new perspectives May perform additional duties as required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemical sciences, or related field with 5–10 years of directly relevant industry experience Master’s degree with 5–10 years of directly relevant industry experience Ph.D. with 1–3 years of directly relevant industry experience Ability to independently and accurately execute experiments Experience troubleshooting assays and optimizing protocols Clear and consistent documentation practices in research or regulated environments Ability to design and execute laboratory experimentation and determine next steps based on project goals Work involving bloodborne pathogens, blood products, body fluids, or potentially infectious materials Work involving hazardous chemicals, radiological hazards, and biological hazards Use of personal protective equipment (eye protection, footwear, lab coat, gowning coveralls, respirator, hearing protection) May require confined space work Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing small workstreams or independent experimental tracks Experience collaborating in cross‑functional scientific teams Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills About BEPC BEPC Inc., founded in 2007, is a 100% employee‑owned company providing top‑tier consulting and staffing solutions across industries like technology, engineering, manufacturing, and project management.
