Rehabilitation Therapist (Occupational - Safety) – Salinas Valley State Prison PIP Employer: California Correctional Health Care Services Location: Salinas Valley State Prison Psychiatric Inpatient Program, Soledad, Monterey County, California Type: Limited‑Term (12 months, may extend to 24 months or become permanent) Effective Date: July 1, 2025 Position Number: 936-220-8323-XXX Job Description This role supports the rehabilitation and occupational safety of inmates within the psychiatric inpatient program. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized treatment plans; applying occupational therapy modalities such as self‑help skills, language facilitation, educational techniques, sensory‑motor integration, physical restoration methods, and pre‑vocational exploration; and facilitating physical and psychosocial growth. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for inmates. Apply various occupational therapy modalities and techniques to support rehabilitation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, health care partners, and community agencies. Document assessments, progress, and outcomes accurately. Maintain a safe, humane, and therapeutic environment for all clients. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from a recognized college or university with a major in occupational therapy. Certification as an occupational therapist registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association, or eligibility for such certification. Benefits & Pay Base salary and benefits in accordance with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) pay scales.
