OverviewGrowth & Genetics Clinical Sales Specialist – Ascendis Pharma (as described in listing)The Growth & Genetics Clinical Sales Specialist is responsible for understanding and identifying a customer’s needs, supporting pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and ensuring that Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients.ResponsibilitiesPromote the Growth & Genetics portfolio and develop superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in face-to-face clinical dialogue with multi-specialty healthcare professionals.Use product knowledge and selling skills to engage in customized client discussions and interactions based on specific customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.Drive outstanding performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.Execute strategies and tactics and manage allocated budget and resources to achieve territory goals while focusing on customer and patient needs.Maintain current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers.Call on Pediatric Endocrinologists, Geneticists, Orthopedists, Endocrinologists, and Pediatricians; gain access into institutions and navigate complex referral networks.Demonstrate tenacity in challenging market access scenarios.Use analytical tools to understand and evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives ethically and effectively.Develop, communicates and execute a business plan to achieve and surpass goals and sales objectives.Collaborate with peers and internal stakeholders to maximize impact of resources to pull-through value within the territory and Ascendis.Sell on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.Maintain administrative excellence: manage work hours, submit timely and accurate sales call data, respond to customer objectives, manage samples and expenses, and other administrative items.Partner with the access team to develop strategies that drive access to the brand.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience; rare disease and/or specialty therapeutics preferredProven history of strong performanceDemonstrated high clinical acumenAbility to be resilient and flexible in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environmentExperience with complex distribution systems and HUB services to ensure smooth customer experienceThrives in a collaborative, accountability-based teamSelf-starter with hunter mentality and strong decision-making, judgment, and ethicsExperience working in a multi-specialty environment to address customer needs compliantlyAbility to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needsAbility to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and diagnose performance issuesExperience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information effectively and ethicallyAbility to meet all credentialing requirements as needed by territory, health system/customer demand, and policyValid driver’s license and safe driving recordOvernight travel requiredSalary: The annual base salary for this position is $190,000. Actual salary will vary based on qualifications, skills, and proficiency.
