Progressive Care Unit Overview:
The Progressive Care Unit at The University of Vermont Health Network is a dynamic and challenging environment where nurses can care for a wide range of moderately complex patients. With advanced monitoring and sophisticated equipment, our team provides intensive treatments and a collaborative approach to promote wellness through assessment, monitoring, and education in critically ill patients. Some of the primary diagnoses treated in this unit include compromised airway requiring intensive respiratory therapy, controlled infusion of antiarrhythmic or vasoactive IV drug therapy, acute poisoning, suicide attempts, multisystem failure, neurologic abnormalities, metabolic crisis, multiple trauma, chest pain, myocardial infarction, heart failure, hemodynamic instability, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, post-anesthesia care, mechanical ventilation, cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia analysis, thrombolytic therapy, GI bleeding, internal/external pacing, electrical cardioversion, and acute dialysis (peritoneal, hemodialysis).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patients' conditions and respond to changes in their status
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Document patient information and communicate effectively with colleagues and physicians
Benefits and Incentives:
A competitive salary, a $10K RN Sign-On Bonus for full-time (pro-rated for part-time), differentials - evenings $3.00, nights $4.00, and weekends $3.25, and up to $9,200 in relocation assistance are available to qualified candidates.
