As an LPN on our team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands‑on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care to patients. Administer medication. Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files. Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions. Implement pain management assessments and documentation. Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO. Follow Code Blue protocol. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of Accredited LPN program Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Knowledge of infection control practices Computer literacy Preferred Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) One year of clinical experience Knowledge of nursing theory and disease processes IV certification Manual blood pressure certification Physical Requirements Essential Duties: Knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician. Frequent walking, sitting, and standing. Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations. Frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and occasional use of the computer. Work involves heavy lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with mechanical devices or personnel. Stooping, pushing, pulling when moving a patient into position; reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulation of equipment into position. Indoor, air‑conditioned environment. Significant exposure to blood and blood‑borne pathogens. Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment. Personal Protective Equipment High exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids that mandate the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
