Designation Level I, II, or III is determined by the scope of the project. Responsibilities Meet construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions; provide non‑project annual operating and capital budget information. Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implement production, productivity, quality and customer‑service standards; resolve problems; identify construction management system improvements. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations. Accomplish construction human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicate job expectations; plan, execute, monitor/controlling, appraise job contributions; recommend compensation actions; adhere to policies and procedures. Manage sub‑contractors by evaluating and selecting sub‑contractors; monitoring and controlling performance. Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, OSHA, MSHA and DOT codes and regulations. Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Operate heavy equipment – substantial training and evaluation of performance. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management. Qualifications Valid driver’s license required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a construction environment. Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in construction management or supervision preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) required. Ability to read engineered drawings and blueprints required. Ability to operate heavy construction equipment strongly preferred. OSHA 30 Certification preferred. Experience in site grading/heavy construction, including mass excavations, embankments, hauling and placement of transported materials, utility construction, and/or landfill construction/operation preferred. Work Environment & Conditions Requires a flexible work schedule: nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Subject to loud noises. Subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin: fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Requires working in the internal and external environment. Ability to work independently, as a team, and as a team leader. Work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
