Position Overview The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Systems to support our Flight Software team at El Segundo, California. This position focuses on the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization, contributing to commercial and government space programs. The role requires full‑life‑cycle software development experience, leadership skills, and superior judgment in engineering innovative solutions. Position Responsibilities Software development tasks including requirements analysis, software architecture, design, integration, and formal qualification. Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems. Develop software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments. Work and interface with a technically diverse user community and an integrated product team (systems and software). High motivation and strong team collaboration. Basic Qualifications Ability to obtain U.S. Secret – Interim Pre‑Start & Final Post‑Start clearance. 10+ years of classroom or work‑related experience with the Software Development lifecycle (Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test). 3+ years of experience in software development using languages such as Go, Java, C/C++, Rust, or Python. Preferred Qualifications BS degree in engineering, technology, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Experience with team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence. Full software development lifecycle experience from requirements analysis through formal qualification. Travel No travel is anticipated for this position. Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Security Clearance Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance: U.S. Secret clearance (interim pre‑start and final post‑start). U.S. Citizenship is required.
