Nursing Assistant - Acute Rehab Unit - Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital - Weekends - Evening/Night

Schedule: Part Time

Weekend Option 1 Program

26 Weekend shifts per year, 24 hours per weekend

2 12-hour shifts per weekend (6:45 p.m.-Holiday rotation required

The Post-Surgical Unit offers strong nurse autonomy and physician collaboration, along with excellent patient ratios, and an engaged and dynamic team.

+ Rehabilitation RNs practice within the full scope of their license through innovative wound and pressure injury, bladder management, and patient care protocols. Post-Surgical RNs care for a variety of surgical patients, with a focus on orthopedics and spine surgeries.

+ Engage in clinical nurse advancement programs, charge and preceptor courses, specialized education, professional certification support, tuition reimbursement, and more within WellSpan Health's robust nursing structural empowerments.

+ Exemplary Outcomes:The Rehabilitation Unit is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in its general rehabilitation, stroke, amputee, spinal cord injury, and brain injury programs. + Rehab Unit details:40- bed Main Rehab; 8- bed secure Brain Injury Unit. Post-Surgery Unit:25-beds; managing care following ortho and spine procedures

Provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned duties such as performing EKGs and Point-of-Care testing.

Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including activities of daily living and the removal of peripheral IVs and indwelling urinary catheter.

+ Performs purposeful hourly rounds to identify and address patient needs.

+ Obtains and electronically documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight, respiration and pulse.

+ Performs Point-of-Care testing which may include blood glucose, hemocult and specific gravity testing. Performs quality control and instrument check procedures and maintains related records.

+ and transports patients to tests, procedures and different levels of care.

+ Collects specimens as directed using appropriate or specified equipment for collecting and handling specimens.

+ Obtains and removes equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.

+ Responsible for maintaining and storing equipment appropriately and completing electronic requests for equipment repairs.

+ Maintains par levels of supplies and equipment on assigned unit(s). Responsible for stocking patient rooms, nursing areas, supply carts, etc. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
