Senior Application Developer

Location DesignationHybrid - 1 day per weekRole OverviewThe Group Membership Association Department (GMAD) is seeking an Application Developer to support the design, development, and enhancement of software applications and tools that serve GMAD's core business operations. This is a hybrid position based in White Plains, NY, with remote work most of the week and required in-office presence on Wednesdays and one additional day per month. The position reports to the Manager of Systems within GMAD. This role will work under the guidance of senior developers and technical leads to implement application features, resolve defects, and participate in project work focused on GMAD’s portals and service platforms. This is a growth-oriented role suited for developers building their expertise in enterprise systems and cloud technologies.What You\'ll DoContribute to application development and maintenance efforts across GMAD platforms, including portal development and service system integrationsDevelop features and fix issues in collaboration with senior engineersWrite clean, maintainable code in Java (Spring Boot) and assist with database operations using Oracle SQL and PL/SQLSupport the development of back-end components such as APIs and XML-based servicesWorking understanding of Generative AI & Bedrock: RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), Knowledge Bases, Vector Databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Milvus), a plusFamiliar with AWS Cloud ServicesKnowledge of AI Agents / Agentic AI: Autonomous agent frameworks, task orchestration, tool integration, a plusAssist in system integrations involving secure file transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP)Participate in basic troubleshooting, debugging, and application performance monitoringLearn and apply best practices in software development, DevOps, and cloud computingCollaborate with team members in an agile development environmentWhat You\'ll BringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred1–3 years of experience in web or back-end application developmentFamiliarity with: Java (preferably Java 17 or later), Spring Boot framework; RESTful APIs and basic authentication protocols; SQL (Oracle, MS SQL Server); Version control using Git/GitHubExposure to cloud platforms such as AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, API Gateway) is a plusAwareness of AI or machine learning concepts is welcome but not requiredStrong analytical skills, willingness to learn, and ability to follow coding standards and team processesWork Style and CommunicationWorks under general supervision and escalates issues appropriatelyContributes to a team-oriented environment and takes feedback constructivelyCommunicates clearly with technical peers and team leadsPay TransparencySalary Range: $100,000 - $135,000Overtime eligible: ExemptDiscretionary bonus eligible: YesSales bonus eligible: NoActual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
