Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Director oversees a portfolio that includes community engagement, the AH Scholarship Programs (James Allen Community Scholarship Award (JACSA) and the Bowen Choice Neighborhoods (BCN) Scholarship program), Atlanta Housing Cares (employee volunteer program), the Workplace Giving Campaign, and the Resident Reoccupancy Program. The role manages day-to-day delivery, people leadership, budgets, and performance; works with the Partnerships Department to steward partner deliverables and ensure on-time execution; partners with Communications for clear resident-facing messaging; and drives data-informed execution and continuous improvement aligned to established goals, timelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong alignment with Atlanta Housing mission and vision, embodying our core organizational values through:* Exceptional analytical skills and sound professional judgment* A proactive and strategic mindset with anticipatory problem-solving abilities* Deep commitment to organizational goals, ethical standards, and youth development* High levels of personal and professional integrity* Energy, adaptability, and resilience in a dynamic environment* A collaborative spirit and commitment to inclusive engagement* Proven ability to execute impactful initiatives and deliver measurable results* A passion for empowering families and transforming lives.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Execute department plan & priorities: convert established goals into annual workplans, budgets, timelines, SOPs, and KPIs; track progress; solve operational issues; escalate risks with recommended actions.* Coach and manage the Sr. Education Specialist, Manager of Community Engagement, and Resident Resource Coordinator; set goals, conduct reviews, and build a culture of service, and accountability.* Oversee the creation and implementation of Resident engagement calendar and activation plan across AH communities, ensuring inclusive outreach, language access, trauma-informed practice, and resident voice in implementation.* Oversee the implementation of the James Allen Community Scholars Award (JACSA) and Bowen Choice Neighborhoods (BCN) Scholarship program. Manage eligibility, selection, awards, stewardship, and outcomes tracking; maintain audit-ready documentation.* Oversee the Workplace Giving Campaign and Atlanta Housing Cares initiatives annual plan/calendar, volunteer opportunities and days of service, internal champions network, participation/impact reporting, and compliance with policy/procurement.* Lead agency Reoccupancy efforts, partnering with internal departments to ensure smooth, fair and on-time resident returns to redeveloped sites.* Align scopes/MOUs, timelines, and deliverables; coordinate logistics for activations; monitor compliance; report on partner performance—no partner sourcing.* Manage program budgets, grants, and in-kind resources; forecast needs; reconcile spend; ensure adherence to AH, city, state, and federal requirements.* Maintain dashboards with the AH Data Strategy team; lead quarterly learning reviews and continuous improvement cycles.* Collaborate with Communications on resident-facing materials, campaigns, and storytelling; uphold brand standards.* Perform other duties as assigned**Education and Experience:*** Master’s degree in social work, public administration/policy, education, or related field and 7+ years of progressive experience in community engagement and/or social services* 3+ years of people management leading multidisciplinary teams.* Demonstrated success leading volunteer programs and/or workplace giving campaigns.* Experience coordinating program delivery across internal with strong budget and compliance management.* Experience within a housing authority, municipal agency, or large nonprofit.* Familiarity with CRM/case management systems (e.g., Caseworthy, Salesforce) and engagement/event platforms.* Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.* Volunteer administration or fundraising credentials (e.g., CVA, CFRE) a plus.* Data fluency; set KPIs, use dashboards, and drive decisions with evidence.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment; translate approved goals into budgets, timelines, SOPs, and measurable outcomes.* Ability to collaborate with the Partnerships Department to steward deliverables and execute partner commitments (rather than source new partners).* Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organization, prioritization, fiscal discipline, and attention to detail and accuracy.* Ability to communicate with diverse populations; present clearly in public forums; embed equity, accessibility, and language access.* Demonstrated proficiency in current office and program systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; CRM/case management; volunteer/giving platforms) and produce KPI dashboards and reports.**Working Conditions** Work is primarily performed in an office environment within the assigned community, with frequent on-site engagement at AH properties and partner locations. Duties may involve occasional bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as prolonged periods of sitting; community events may require extended standing and walking. The role may require lifting/moving supplies or equipment, generally not exceeding 20 lbs. Local travel is required; must have and maintain a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for inclusion on the company’s Authorized Drivers List. Evening and weekend availability is required to attend community meetings and events, including indoor and outdoor settings with varying weather conditions and moderate noise typical of public gatherings.
