**WHO YOU ARE**

You will prepare and cook food items using standardized recipes and by following food safety guidelines.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

* Report to work on time according to posted schedule in specified uniform. Dressed and ready to work by the time the shift begins.

* Prepare all food items according to recipes using correct handling procedures

* Maintain proper par levels of production according to prep sheets

* Measure and mix ingredients accurately, review any modifications to recipes to meet quality standards with Executive Chef.

* Test food being cooked by properly taste testing and taking food temperatures using proper ServSafe procedures and guidelines.

* Food preparation and cooking skills include but are not limited to: measuring, washing, peeling, cutting, grilling, baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, carving and portioning foods.

* Monitor food quantities, quality and display during preparation

* Stock workstation appropriately for each shift to be ready for the meal period

* Must have knowledge of menu, including what ingredients are used to prepare each dish and how to build each dish to order

* Date all food containers and rotate as needed, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.

* Workspace to be cleaned after each shift including switching of food storage containers, labeling of ingredients, scrubbing and sanitizing of all parts of station

* Promote a positive perception of the company at all times both internally and in public

* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

**WHAT WE NEED**

**Experience and/or Training**

* Previous experience, non-fast food restaurant and/or training in a culinary school required.

* Have ServSafe Certification or be willing to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.

* Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

* Be able to keep up with a fast paced environment

* Position subject to irregular hours to include late nights, weekends and holidays

* Must be 18 years old

* Able to perform with minimum supervision

**PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to lift, carry, and deliver boxes and items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. The environment can sometimes be hot and demanding. Smoothly navigate dining room, kitchen and other facility areas, attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Protective Clothing Required: Non-slip shoes

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

This position operates in a restaurant and/or catering setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
