WATERWORKS OPERATOR

The Womelsdorf-Robesonia Joint Authority, Berks County, Pennsylvania (WRJA) seeks a Waterworks Operator.
The successful candidate will assist with a variety of tasks required to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the WRJA facilities and water system. The position is full time, 40 hours per week with overtime required on evenings and weekends as needed. Hourly wage per hour will be competitive and will be commensurate with experience. Benefits include: uniforms, health insurance, paid vacation, paid sick and personal days, vehicle for use during work hours and annual bonus plan.

Candidates must:
• have a high school diploma or equivalent,
• have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean record since 2015,
• be able to perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods of time,
• be able to perform tasks such as basic plumbing and pipefitting,
• have basic computer skills,
• mechanical ability is a plus, and
• be able to work well with others including the general public and customers of the WRJA.
In addition, the successful candidate must pass the following background checks upon hiring:
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance
• Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check.
The successful candidate will obtain waterworks operator certifications upon hiring if the successful candidate does not already have these certifications. The WRJA will pay for the courses.

The successful candidate will be hired on a one-year probationary period.
The successful candidate will be subject to periodic performance reviews.
