The Department of Transportation (DOT) is on the lookout for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator who's up for the challenge of operating various types of heavy machinery. Your expertise will ensure our construction and maintenance projects are completed safely and efficiently. Duties and Responsibilities Participate in roadway maintenance, culvert pipe cleaning, and other drainage systems.Operate a Vac-Con sewer/pipe cleaning machine.Independently complete assigned labor tasks and maintain work schedules.Report to a Crew Supervisor who provides assistance with unusual or difficult problems and inspects completed work for quality and compliance with time schedules.Complete daily tasks in an Asset Management system.Prepare estimates, requisitions, and specifications for supplies and materials.Perform other job duties as assigned. Education, Experience, Licensing Minimum Requirements:Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and one year of heavy equipment operation or closely related experience.This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug & Alcohol Workplace testing as provided in DOT regulation 49CFR-parts 40 and /or 382.Licenses:Possession of a valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement and an acceptable driving record is required.
