Introduction:
Oxford Dental is seeking a dedicated and motivated Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for individuals aiming to pursue a career in dental hygiene and looking to gain practical experience while building their Continuing Education (CE) hours required for dental hygiene school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dental hygienists in the delivery of direct patient care and perform routine tasks needed for patient services.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Collect and record patient health histories.
- Provide support with dental X-rays and processing dental radiographs as directed.
- Assist in the management of dental and medical emergencies.
- Maintain patient comfort and support during dental procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Assist with front office duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Prior experience in a dental office is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in dental hygiene.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
