You will play an essential role in providing warm and friendly hospitality to all the residents, visitors, and coworkers. The Food Services Director organizes, plans, directs, controls, and supervises functions and personnel within the dietary department which provides food and nutrition services to residents in a long-term care facility. The Food Services Director leads quality dining programs that will enhance the meal experience for the residents and ensures that the dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. As the Food Services Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the dietary department, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be tasked with maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, while also managing a team of dietary staff. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a positive dining experience for residents, and you will be expected to implement programs that promote resident satisfaction and well-being. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, ensuring that the department is always survey-ready. In addition to your managerial duties, you will be involved in budgeting and forecasting for supplies and equipment, and conducting regular quality assurance inspections. Your role will require excellent communication skills, as you will need to coordinate with other departments and participate in facility meetings. Overall, this position is vital to the success of our food service operations and the satisfaction of our residents. Responsibilities Train workers in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise functions and activities of the department Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by department employees Forecast and plan the purchase of supplies, and equipment Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered Maintain proper staffing levels Maintain required records including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records Conduct regular management staff meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate dietary activities Manage a cost‑effective program to budget Maintain the department to be survey‑ready at all times, assuring the department operates within federal, state, and local regulations Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments Actively participate in facility meetings and committees Follow all company policies and procedures Promote the professional growth and development of the entire departmental team Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments Promote and monitor resident satisfaction Ensure that the food service operation is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner Requirements Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long‑term care preferred ServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and quality attitude Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives Public speaking skills Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required Ability to work all shifts as needed Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full‑time Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries Hospitals and Health Care #J-18808-Ljbffr
