The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient‘s diagnosis, nutrition focused physical exam and overall health status. Identifies the proper nutrition regimen and places order in the medical record. Communicates plan of care to all responsible parties. Educates staff, patients, family and significant others on nutrition plan of care. Documents findings, orders, interventions in the electronic health record. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Supports best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence based practice guidelines.
