Salary: $3,417.00 Monthly Location : Main Campus - 12401 SE 320th Street Auburn, WA Job Type: Classified Full Time Job Number: 25c-026 Department: Student Affairs Opening Date: 11/19/2025 Closing Date: 1/4/2026 11:59 PM Pacific Position Summary 5% King County Premium Pay will be added Under general direction, lead assigned bookstore employees in all retail and/or service bookstore operations such as customer service, sales, ordering, receiving, inventory, cash control, promotions, merchandising, and/or service functions. Perform assigned tasks such as maintaining control records of receipts, verifies daily records of receipts, prepares and inputs data in computer. Order and receive assigned store merchandise. Serve as an assistant to the bookstore director as needed. ABOUT THE COLLEGE: Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Position Responsibilities Assists customers and employees with questions. Provide great customer service. Position may lead or supervise lower-level staff. Operates registers as required in cashiering function. Verifies, consolidates, and balances cash receipts, makes and maintains reports and records of cash flow, prepares daily bank deposits as assigned. Prepares computer inputted documents. Safeguards monies within bookstore. Conducts monthly safe counts. Coach and mentor part time student employees to improve customer service, correct cash handling, stocking, cleaning, and straighten sales floor. Order and receive assigned store merchandise. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent One (1) year of experience with a computerized Point of Sale inventory system Demonstrated outstanding retail & customer service skills. Demonstrated strong computer skills (experience w/ Microsoft Office products) Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years of experience with a computerized Point of Sale inventory system Three (3) years of experience in retail or in customer service-oriented field Two (2) years of supervisory experience Supplemental Information Required Training:Non-discrimination Ethics Child Abuse and Neglect Safety Orientation Title IX Procurement 101 Campus Safety Authority (CSA) FERPA WORKING CONDITIONS: Must have the ability to stand for prolonged period of time at a computer/ workstation Frequent repetitive arm, hand, and finger motions Frequent use of computer and exposure to terminal screen in performing work assignments Work in a setting with frequent interruptions Must be able to maintain "regular and predictable attendance." May need to carry, lift or move equipment/supplies up to 50lbs. Must have the ability to push/pull hand truck/dolly loaded with up to 100lbs. Work schedule: Generally, M-F 9am-5:30pm.
