Trusted.The Undersea Technology Analysis Portfolio (UTAP), within the Sea, Land, & Air Analysis Group in SPA, conducts rigorous and objective analyses to enable the Navy and other DoD organizations to make decisions, plans, and strategies to deliver emerging undersea technologies and warfighting capabilities. We support clients across the undersea and naval special warfare enterprises, including those within resourcing and requirements (OPNAV N97), acquisition (program offices for undersea technologies and naval special warfare), and science and technology (Office of Naval Research, DARPA) Our enduring capabilities include:Identifying capability gaps, developing requirements, and generating solutionsAssessing the operational utility and technical feasibility of new technologiesExecution of acquisition and technology development programs, including developing plans and roadmaps to mature, deliver, and sustain new technologiesAnalysis of vulnerabilities and threats to undersea platforms and systemsQuantitative analysis and modeling of undersea forces and their missionsSPA has a near term need for a Naval Architect for upcoming support to the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants (USC), located at the Washington Navy Yard, DC. PEO USC, through affiliated program offices, designs, procures, and builds the Navy’s unmanned surface and undersea systems delivering the capabilities needed to support a range of fleet operations in the at the best cost-efficient value. The portfolio includes a wide range of UxVs, including Unmanned Surface Vehicles/Vessels (USVs) and Unmanned Undersea Vehicles/Vessels (UUVs). UxVs and unmmaned systems (UxSs) are expanding to multiple ship classes within the U.S. Navy fleet. This contract will support the design, engineering and implementation of UxSs across the U.S. Navy portfolio.ResponsibilitiesThis Naval Architect will design, build, and maintain Unmanned Systems (UxSs) in PMS 406's portfolio. This role will use knowledge of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, flotation and stability, structures, arrangements, and construction, and cost and survivability assessment to synthesize the often conflicting demands from competing design constraints to determine the most balanced designs for UxSs. This role requires proficiency with modern computation tools to perform UUV and USV design studies.Washington, D.C. Pay Range: 145-180k and higher for exceptionally qualified individuals.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:At least 10 years of professional experienceTop Secret Security ClearanceBachelor's level degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean EngineeringDesired Qualifications:15 or more years of professional experience in Naval ArchitectureRelevant mechanical engineering experience with DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process) #J-18808-Ljbffr
